Corfu | Blue Lagoon and my Return to the Netherlands
“So many people were super excited when they came back and told me about the Blue Lagoon’s, they’ve had a fantastic time … it’s really something you nééd to visit when you’re here. You can book with me” – The Trip-advisor.
Sure, some people find it great fun to go on a boat to the Blue Lagoon, but I didn’t and I’ll tell you why not.
I was told we were going on a boat, which would be back at 16:00 o’clock, I’d get a lunch and we’d visit two caves and two lagoons. It was the last day in Corfu, a super fun last trip you’d think -it’s what I thought…
Well… You have to stand at the bus-stop at 07:15, then there’s the bustrip which takes 1 and a half hour of your time, then you’re going on the boat… Hell. Really, the music was súper loud and the boattrip took way too long. The caves were actually one cave and I didn’t find it really special…

When we arrived at the first blue lagoon there was actually a beach where more people were laying and swimming, so why would you go on a boat for 2,5 hours for that? Exactly, you wouldn’t if you’d know. Plus: there was no shower on the boat, so if you’re swimming in the salty see, there’s no possibility to rinse it of, and salty see + sun = allergic reaction for me, so I didn’t swim that day. Such a pity.
When we arrived at the second “blue lagoon” I didn’t find it really special either, neither was the so-called lunch; dry chicken, with kale, salad and fake tzatziki. My oh my, I think everybody hated it -you should have seen those faces- I felt sick and got stomach-ache the next day, great lunch..
Then… were went to the last destination which was an awesome city, according to the woman who explained things in 5 languages and talked for way too long. Well, there were 4 touristic shops, 1 supermarket, it was super hot at the time we got there and of course there were a lot of restaurants where you could have an Ice Cream, which we all did.
I just wanted to warn you for this kind of trips, because it’s just a waste of your time and money. You could better hire a car (for one more day), go to a beach and let you take to a blue lagoon by speedboat -costs you less (time)-
The day after I had to leave again, I didn’t want to leave… but I didn’t mind going back, seeing my friends and dogs again.
The sweater I’m wearing is from QueMondo designer hoodies, and I’ll tell you more about it in another article soon!
