
♥ Is a Gym Membership Effective? Of course, you don’t need a gym to get in shape,
but for many people the gym is a great way to maintain fitness.
“Have you seen the weather? I’m not going to run today”
When you join a gym, the weather will never get in your way of getting fit. (Unless you’ll have to make a 30 minute trip through the snow to get there.. By bicycle) You can run on a treadmill when it’s raining, instead of staying home because it’s too wet to go for a run. And when it’s too warm outside, you can exercise in a comfortable, air-conditioned gym. You can thank me later 😉
Different Equipment & Facilities
I don’t have a lot of space at home, plus I don’t want to spend tons of money on equipment to get in shape. In the gym, there are lots of people who are willing to help you and give you some advice, and with the different equipment you’ll be able to work on every desired part of your body. The variety of classes and equipment that a gym can offer, is also great if you get bored very easily. You could do zumba and yoga one week, body pump and boxing the other week. Not to mention all the machines and weights you can work with.
Go for it!
Joining a gym is also a great motivation to actually getting fit. You’ve paid for the membership, you don’t want it to be a waste of your money, so you’re going. No matter what. Of course this motivation only works if yóú are the one who’s paying for it. But I’m sure you also don’t want it to be somebody’s else’s waste of money, do you?
Working out with Company
Exercising on your own might get boring. So if you’re going to the gym, you’ll have the company of other people with the same goals as you. You can help each other out, motivate each other and just have a great time. And personally, I feel a little bit of pressure, which is good. Because, you can’t go to the gym and then decide to do nothing. So you’ll have to move and get fit!
“Eh… How does this work?”
The problem by working out on your own, is that you may not know which exercises are best for you and how to get in shape. If you join a gym, however, you can get as much guidance as you need. Usually when you start, you’ll have an appointment with a trainer, who helps you and explains everything about the machines. You can choose to go for a personal trainer, or you can ask people who’re training. Though the last part can be somewhat hard, because you don’t want to interrupt people while they’re doing ’their thing’.Â
It’s not that much as you think
You might think a gym membership is super expensive. Thing is, you can make it as expensive as you like. I, for example, have a membership for €27,95 per month. But then, I’m allowed to take classes and to train in the morning and evening. But you also have cheaper memberships, where you can exercise in the afternoon on certain times. So like I said, it’s up to you!
Once you begin exercising, also make sure you’re wearing the right gear
Here I’m wearing the new Skechers Performance sneakers (not sponsored by the way, the photo’s were made during an HIIT workout). When you’re wearing the wrong shoes, it affects your whole workout and might cause you pain and sore feet. These shoes are really a great support and make you feel like you’re walking on … pillows? Yes, that soft.
Do you need to join a gym to get fit? No. But it might give you that little push that you need and extra guidance and company. So it’s definitely worth considering to get your Gym Membership if you want to get healthy, fit and in shape.

Dude! This looks like the coolest gym ever!!! I would totally join if I lived nearby. Though, HIIT training freaks me out, I am more of a yoga girl than a cardio buff. But I do love gymnastics. Rings are my favourite!

You can tell you work out because you look fit. Going to the gym is great because they do have all kinds of equipment that you normally can’t have in your home. My kinda of workout is Insanity at home because I have two little kids. It definitely makes me sweat.

Yes in the past I’m gone 3-4 a week , now I m a swimmer and I’m going 4-5 /week sometimes and we’re swimming together w others. The best pert is than we take a lunch :))

This looks like an amazing gym! For some reason I am one of the odd ones that has to work out from home to actually get myself to do it. But I know the gym is definitely the way for most people
Your gym looks really cool! The atmosphere and space looks so conducive for having a fun workout. I love doing HIIT exercises. They’re really tough but I always feel really good afterwards. Best part is I can burn a lot more calories in a shorter period of time. Awesome sneakers by the way! 🙂

I used to have one but I never used it so I cancelled it.Now I just go with my friend as her guest, since she gets free unlimited guests. I work out so much better with other people anyways, so it works out well!

I love going to the gym and gym atmosphere, I totally can’t concentrate while I’m working out at home, so I’m agree with 100%!
I have a gym membership! i try to go at least 3-4 days per week. I see you flipping that tire, girl! That’s one of my favorite exercises that makes me feel like a beast 🙂

I have a gym membership that I don’t use and a boxing gym membership that I use 6 days a week. It’s nice to have both and it really is helpful when the weather is really bad. I also love the classes they offer at the gyms nowadays.
I prefer working out at a gym too. I like the fact that, as you’ve mentioned, that regardless of the weather outside, I can still get my workout in and I have so many different machines and equipment at my disposal. Plus, I like being around other people and not secluded in the house, haha. BUT, I just may have to do some home workouts after having the baby, until I’m able to leave for a couple of hours. I think joining a gym is a great way to get fit and to meet other people who are on that same journey. Gyms also hold you accountable in accomplishing your goals. I need to get a membership asap!
