♥ “So you’re telling me, I can wash my clothes with dried fruit shells?”
Hi Lovelies!
The end is near… Ok, that sounds a little depressing. But 2016 is going to be super awesome!
It’s the perfect time to go green and start thinking a bit more about others.
Charity isn’t about giving tons of money to other people to do good. Being nice to someone: saying ‘hi’ to a stranger, can already mean só much to someone else.
Let the person who’s waiting and standing behind you in the row before you, pay for someone in a café or restaurant. Help someone getting a product from the highest shelf, or carry a bag for an older person. It’s about the small things that can mean the world to someone else.
Give five euro’s per month, to a charity of your choice, donate your old clothes, buy a sandwich for that homeless man who’s standing in the harsh coldness, buy “green” organic products that help people who made the products (Going green and buying organic products, helps nature too, so that’s a win-win)
Go Green with Seepje
There’s this cool company called “Seepje”, which is found by three guys. Seepje ensures preservation of Nature in Nepal and improves work- and living conditions in Nepal. They also work together with the organization called Siza; they work with people with a mental and/or physical disability.
Seepje is a detergent, that washes with the shells of the “Sapindus Mukorossi fruit”. This is originating from the Sapindus Trees, which grow in and around the Himalayans. When the shells of the fruits are dried, they have some really special qualities…
So you’re telling me, I can wash my clothes with dried fruit shells?
Yes I actually am!
The shells contain saponin, a natural soap that’s antibacterial and cleans. When the shells come into contact with water, they release a natural form of soap. People in Nepal have been using these shells to wash their clothes for years! Now it’s our turn.
You can use the Seepje shells for all your different clothing ánd it’s also a fabric softener, so it’s cheaper too. There are no chemicals added at all, so it’s you, seepje shells and your dirty wash. Exicting isn’t it.
With Seepje we can wash the world a little cleaner and… more beautiful 🙂
Seepje Liquid
There’s also Seepje liquid, which exists for 70% out of the shells. Also added in Seepje Liquid: saponified sunflower oil and lemon acid, to give your clothing a super nice smell. It’s packed in a carton-bottle, so that’s 70% less plastic, used to make these bottles.
Seepje is really easy to use.
You have one package with 150 gram of Sapindus Mukorossi shells, two cotton washbags, 15 ml biological oil and a little paper to write down how many times you’ve washed. You can wash up to 30 times with your 150 gram of shells!
Each time you wash, you need 8 half or 4 whole shells. You put them in the cotton bag and you lay this on top of your wash. If you like, you can sprinkle some of the oil in the little bag, to give your clothes a lovely and fresh smell. The shells last up to three times, after that you can throw them in your garden or in your green garbage.
It’s só much fun to wash with Seepje, you pick the shells you like, put the oil in the bag and then it’s time to wait. The oil sprinkling requires some experience, to use too much or too little, but eventually you’ll get there!
You can buy and read more about Seepje (and all their different “flavours”) on the website.
♥ Let’s make the world a little better and happier by doing these small things. Whether you buy organic, Fairtrade and natural products like Seepje (which already helps to make the world a little better), or you do something small (or big) and great for someone else. How small they might seem, they make the world to someone else.
