Hi Lovelies!
The weather is weird here in the Netherlands, like.. really. It even snowed in one part of the Netherlands, which is quite unusual for this time of the year. In the other parts, it’s pouring rain , if not.. it’s cold like it has been snowing. You can probably imagine yourself, stepping outside of your house (when everything just seemed to go perfect: eyeliner-, lips- and hair on point) and just like that, you’re soaked thanks to the pouring rain. What to do afterwards and how to maybe prevent such scenarios? I’ll tell you right now!
First of all
Ask yourself if you really have to get out of the house right now. Can it wait? No? Do you really have to go today? Yes? Read further.
No Make-Up
A little contradictory, because we just said our eyeliner was on point, but… If it’s pouring rain , this is maybe one of the best options. As you don’t want to look like a drenched panda. Though, if you’re always wearing make-up, this might seem like a scary option. You could also.. leave the eye-make-up behind and only put on some BB/CC-cream or foundation. It’s up to you 🙂
Waterproof Make-up
If you do want to wear make-up all over, the best solution is waterproof make-up. If you have good waterproof make-up (mascara, eyeliner and lipstick), it’s so good that you almost can’t wash it off your face. (Want to remove your make-up? Try using coconut oil for mascara, so that you don’t have to rub so hard) Unfortunately, there’s no such thing as a waterproof foundation, though I don’t want to know what that would do to you pores…
Bring your make-up with you
Put a few essentials in a little make-up bag and bring it with you. You could do your make-up at school, on your work (in the toilets) or in the train/airplane/etc.
Rescue-Kit
Mascara on your cheeks, foundation in your neck and lipstick on your chin. Not exactly what you have in mind when you put on your make-up, but when it’s pouring rain this could happen. Bring a little “rescue-kit” with you, like: a few cotton buds, a few make-up remover towels (put two in a little plastic bag), a brush and some powder. Now you’re good to go!
Keep it simple
Less is more, it saves you time, and nothing worse than a soaking smoking eye.
For your hair:
Put your hair up in a bun or ponytail ór put on a Beanie or hat to keep your hair dry.
Stylish clothing that keeps you dry
A coat that’s water-resistant is a must. Your hair and make-up could look perfect, but when your clothing is wet… Horrible!
Raincoats on the photo:
First, Second, Third
Last week I made a video about my One Piece Onesie and wrote about it in a Autumn’y article. I also got a magazine from One Piece and saw… A RAIN JUMPSUIT. No I’m not kidding. Unfortunately it’s not available in the Netherlands, so if you’re living in the US: lucky you!
Here are some other cool Rain Coats:
Under my umbrella –ella – ella
The umbrella is your bestie! I always (try to) have a small umbrella in my bag, you could buy those things almost everywhere and it’s super handy! Here are a few cute ones:
What do you do when it’s pouring rain?

Oh ja dat heb ik ook! Goede tip 🙂 Je hebt ook van die mini-spuitbusjes met haarlak, ook perfect. X
Waterproof mascara is iedere dag mijn reddende engel! Mijn haar gaat altijd enorm pluizen als het geregend heeft, dus zo nu en dan neem ik een travel sized potje mee waar ik wat wax in stop. Ideaal. Leuk artikel en zo’n Rain Jumpsuit klinkt té leuk!
Thanks Christa! Hahaha, I know right? Almost 😉 X
