Young adult boeken zijn mijn favoriet. Dat is omdat dit een genre dat zo lekker weg leest. Soulmates finding Sky

De term “young adult” wil niet zeggen dat alleen “jong volwassenen” deze boeken lezen. Ooit werkte ik in een boekenwinkel werkte, zag ik vaak genoeg wat oudere vrouwen naar een young adult boek grijpen… Het voornamelijke verschil met een gewoon literair boek, vind ik, is dat dingen subtieler en mooier worden beschreven…Soulmates finding sky

De titel sprak me meteen aan: Soulmates, het verhaal van Sky/ Soulmates finding sky . Je hebt je vast wel eens afvraagd wanneer, en of, we onze soulmate zullen ontmoeten.. Denk je nu bij jezelf: ik geloof daar niet in hoor… Sky Bright deed ook niet. Tot ze haar soulmate ontmoet en er zo achter komt dat het lot hen op een wel heel speciale manier aan elkaar heeft verbonden.

Sky verhuist samen met haar adoptie ouders, Sally en Simon. Van Londen naar een troosteloos bouwval (Sally noemt het “gezellig” en “karakteristiek”) in Wrickenridge, de Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

Bij haar eerste les geschiedenis gaat ze naast Tina zitten, die zich al gauw ontfermt over dit blonde meisje met grote blauwe ogen.
Ze vertelt haar over de “groepjes” op school, met onder andere de “stoere jongens” die buiten tegen hun motors aan staan geleund, waarvan de Latino met zwart haar Sky’s aandacht trekt…

De Latino, Zed, mag Sky totáál niet, althans, denkt Sky. Totdat blijkt dat ze via telepathie met elkaar kunnen praten en op een wel heel speciale manier met elkaar verbonden zijn. Zed valt, ondanks dat hij nog nooit interesse heeft getoond in een meisje, voor Sky. Hij noemt Sky zijn soulmate en zegt dat ze de rest van hun leven samen zullen zijn. Dit gaat Sky veel te snel..

Zed is één van de vele broers uit de familie Benedict. Zijn ouders, broers en hij, dragen een groot geheim met zich mee: allen hebben zij een speciale gave. Ze behoren tot de zogenaamde savants. De Benedicts gebruiken hun gaven om het slecht te bestrijden en misdadigers op te pakken, maar ook zij hebben vijanden…

Wat heeft Sky daar mee te maken? Loopt ze gevaar? Overwint de liefde van Zed en Sky, ondanks alles? Dat zul je zelf moeten lezen in dit spannende boek, dat je net als ik in één ruk zult uitlezen.

[EN] Young adult books are my favorite. This is a genre you can snap through really easy. The term “young adult” doesn’t mean only “young adults” are reading this books. When I was working in a bookstore, I saw a lot of older women grabbing a young adult book… The difference compared to a literary book, in my opinion, is that things are described more subtly and beautifully….

Soulmates finding sky

The book’s title appealed to me right away: Soulmates finding sky. We’re all wondering sometimes when or if we’ll meet our soulmate.. If you’re thinking right now: well… I don’t share that belief… Sky Bright neither did, until she meets her soulmate.

Sky moves together with her adoptive parents, Sally and Simon, from the familiar London to a gloomy ruin (Sally calls it a “cosy” and “characteristic”) in Wrickenridge, the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.

At her first class in History she seats next to Tina, who  quickly takes care of this blond-haired girl with big blue eyes. She tells her about the “groups” at school, which for example the “tough guys” who are leaning against their motorcycles outside the school, the black-haired Latino gets Sky’s attention…

The Latino, Zed, doesn’t like Sky at áll, at least, that’s what Sky thinks. Until they find out, they can talk to each other telepathically. They are connected to each other in a very special way. Zed falls, regardless the fact he’s never paid attention to a girl, for Sky. He calls her his soulmate saying they’ll be together forever. This is going way too fast for Sky..

Zed is one of the many brothers from the Benedict family. His parents, brothers and he, carry a big secret with them: they all have a special gift. They belong to the so-called savants. The Benedicts are using their gifts to fight the evil,  they caught the criminals, but even they have enemies…

What has Sky to do with that? Is she in danger? Do Zed and Sky’s overcome love, despite of everything? You’ll have to read this yourself in this exciting book.
I’m sure you will read this book in one sitting, just like I did.
This book is perfect to read in the winter it is a really nice gift to get- eh… give.
