Said Mahrouf, Amsterdam Fashion Week – Birds of Paradise
Said Mahrouf was one of the first to kick of Amsterdam Fashion Week 2016.
For this collection, Said teamed up with the Parisian Painter: Yassine Mekhnache, to create ten unique pieces for the Spring Summer 2016 collection. It again showed his trademark: love for draping.

The pieces have all been embroidered by hand, just like the garments in the paintings of Yassine. Said Mahrouf used the Poem: “Conferences of the Birds” as inspiration for this feminine, elegant, goddess dresses. The birds are seen as the spiritual and physiological representations of the human soul.

“Most of his clients are women who are independent, refined, open, curious and interested in culture in general.”
He showed us a really great and wearable collection. Light fabrics were used in many different pieces, with lots of embroideries, Birds of Paradise paintings, beading and sequins on top. A very elegant collection that complements the female body; sexy but stylish.
