Life Hack # how to pack your suitcase It’s usually one or two days before I’m going on holiday that I pack my suitcase , because I don’t need more time to pack my bags (who does haha). I remember the times when I put lots and lots of stuff in my suitcase..
.. and when I got back, I only used half of the content.
So pack your suitcase efficiently
Last year though, I only packed the things I was really going to wear nothing more and nothing less. My suitcase had never weighted so light! I’ll give you tips to pack a suitcase and bags efficiently too.
To pack your suitcase will usually give you a bit of a headache, because you don’t want to forget anything and you want to look the best you can. No worries, with my tips you’ll get through the packing-fase without stress!
To pack your suitcase and bags
Tip 1: Make sure your ID / Passport is in your bag make a copy of it to give to the hotel/where you’re staying, so that you don’t have to leave your ID with them. Also bring all your needed papers with you. Tip 2: Put a pareo or shawl in your suitcase first (half of it) Put all your things on top of that, when you’re done: just fold the other side over the content, tug it in. People at the airport don’t care about clothes and stuff that move from left to right, but this way you’ll prevent that (at least a bit).
Tip 3: Large and heavier clothes should be on the bottom of your suitcase Heavy clothes on top of light clothes will cause wrinkles and ugly folding. Also: put on your heaviest shoes and clothing that take a lot of space in your suitcase
Tip 4: Roll Your Clothing in Your bag If you want to get the most out of the space in your luggage; you should roll your clothing. Not only does this help you fit the most clothing into your suitcase, but it also keeps them from wrinkling while you travel.
Tip 5: Place smaller items like underwear or socks into shoes to save more space.
Tip 6: Create multiple looks When you can create a few outfits from one piece of clothing, you do not have to pack as much for your vacation. So bring solid-colored basics that you can pair with scarves, cardigans, and other accessories to create multiple looks.
Tip 7: Only bring clothes with you that you’re really going to wear, that look and feel good.
Tip 8: Shoes are also very important Pack a pair of sporty shoes, these will go great with any formal or smart casual outfit, if you’re planning on doing a lot of walking, but still want to keep that trendy look. Also take 1 or 2 (maybe three) pairs of heels that goes well with your evening-outfit. BUT: Don’t forget to read about the environment, in my case I –unfortunately- won’t be able to walk on really high heels in Greece, because there are a lot of stairs and unbalanced tiles everywhere.
Tip 9: Don’t forget to bring your sunglasses, sunhat, swimming suit/bikinis and sunscreen with you –maybe the most important things when you’re going on a Summer Holiday.
Tip 10: Take mini products from your favorites This keeps the weight low and you’ll still have your favorite product with you.
Tip 11: take daycream with a teint And one small box with 2 or 3 colors eyemake-up, 1 rouge and 2 lipsticks. With this you can create 2 or 3 looks during the day and for the evening. Leave heavy and dark-colored make-up at home, also: it can feel safe to bring your foundation and concealer with you –so I’d say: just put it in your bag to be sure- but your teint will probably get darker, so your foundation won’t match your skin-color during your stay… Also: a little bit of mascara, maybe eyeliner and some lipbalm/lipstick is enough when you’re going to the beach, don’t put on your make-up mask because it will only look weird if you’re wearing lots of make-up while sunbathing.
12.Instead of packing big makeup bottles;Â pour a little bit of the product into a (clean) contact case.
Hope these tips will help to pack your suitcase more efficiently and you’ll have a wonderful vacation.
