♥ ‘ Yes I can feel beautiful on a bad day ‘,
Here are a few ways to help you, so you can feel beautiful no matter what
‘Yes I can feel beautiful on a bad day’, sometimes it takes a while, but eventually you will.
I already wrote this article before the tragedy (for me) happened. As you guys might now if you follow me on Instagram, my lovely friend Niels has passed away this Friday. With all the crying, I didn’t feel my best at all…being sad is normal.. It doesn’t matter if you don’t have to go somewhere. But if you do have to go somewhere; here’s how to feel beautiful on a bad day.
Bad days can have to do with all kinds of things. Maybe it’s that time of the month again your periode. Or did you go to bed late and had to wake up early. Maybe you have to go through a breakup or something else that makes you feel down. Maybe your hair just looks stupid, and then your winged eyeliner goes wrong and your whole day is ruined. It all sucks, but we’ve all been there and done that. Here are a few ways to help you, so you can feel beautiful no matter what.
♥ Go scrolling (or thumbing the photo pages) through pictures (of yourself) that you love. When you’re not feeling great, just look at a picture (of yourself) that you love. This is a great way to boost your confidence again and it’s a great reminder of how beautiful you are, even if you’re having a bad day. You are the exact same person and you’re just as gorgeous and lovely now as then. What might help, is to wear the same thing you were wearing in the picture. In my case, looking at pictures of my dog really helps me remembering all the great time’s we’ve had. It’s best for him, but it feels só empty. I can only comfort myself thinking that he has it better now, no more pain but running, being free and eating as much snacks as he likes.
♥ Wear Something You Love. You’re probably in the mood of wearing an all black outfit and listening to heavy metal music combined with ‘I feel terrible’ songs, don’t. Go for colour and flattering prints and fabric. Except when black really does make you feel great about yourself this day, then of course you have to go for black. Wearing an outfit that you love, always makes you feel better. No matter what’s going on, your outfit is on point.
♥ Spray on your favorite perfume. Go for a nice smelling perfume, it will make you feel pretty and sexy and great, which is good for your mood. I have different perfumes for different occasions. One is for when it’s Summer, one when I go out, when I go exercising, when I have a special occasion… Memories are linked to fragrances, so spray that perfume on and think back about the time you felt great about yourself.
♥ Shake it off! The best thing is to have a laugh with someone, but if you’re on your own: put on a song that makes you happy and dance! It’s impossible to feel sad when you’re hitting the beats and dancing your socks off, so go for it! It will make you feel happy, pretty and will gave you more energy. A win win situation. You could also go for any other type of exercise. Not as fun as dancing, but it releases the endorphins which will boost your mood.
♥ Go Shopping. Money doesn’t buy you happiness huh? Well, that beloved dress will definitely make you feel happy. Like, for sure. But shop wisely. Don’t spend money you don’t have.
♥ Spend time with people who think you’re amazing. You’re mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, boyfriend, and so on.. Someone who can boost your mood instantly. Who can say and do the exact right things to make you feel happy again.
Look at your inner beauty. Beauty on the outside isn’t everything. Be kind, be real, be you. Being a kind person is way more important and attractive, than looking on point but acting like a spoiled crazy and arrogant chick. Your inner beauty matters too and will show on the outside.
And last bust not least…feel beautiful plus ♠ Count your blessings ♠.
